Local Investors Back Enterprising Limpsfield 100%

LOCAL INVESTORS BACK ENTERPRISING LIMPSFIELD 100%!

Just one month after launching their community investment scheme, and due to remarkable community response, Enterprising Limpsfield Ltd has successfully reached 100% of its initial investment target to enable the purchase of The Bull Inn on 10th May.

This community venture has inspired local investors and creative collaborators alike with its innovative new business concept, which combines sound commercial, operational and social value principles.  The new community pub/hub aims to be both a successful business, but also a community asset and amenity for all different activities and enterprise.

“We’ve been blown away by the response to our initial campaign,” said Enterprising Limpsfield spokesperson, Diane Wingate. “This amazing local investment opportunity is by no means over, though! With a stretch equity target of £1.25 million to reach, and many more potential investors, we will remain open for investment on the same commercial basis to enable the restoration, refurbishment and set-up, ahead of the business launch set for Autumn 2018.”

About the Business

Enterprising Limpsfield Ltd is a new sustainable business spearheaded by local people seeking to safeguard the future of The Bull Inn, in the village of Limpsfield, Surrey.

The business will operate from this historic building, which enjoys Grade II listed status and is now registered as an Asset of Community Value, ensuring its place at the heart of the community for future generations.

Limpsfield, a beautiful village, close to Pilgrims Way at the foot of the North Downs, has a deeply entrenched community spirit that runs through the heart of the village, with an already successful community-owned and volunteer-operated general stores and post office, along with many other thriving small businesses.

The Core Offering

Keen to embrace innovation, the new ‘pub/hub’ will serve tasty food and drink, sourced from local suppliers. The high-end facilities will also cater for all types of events, offering opportunities for exciting, wide-ranging collaborations with successful local enterprise, suppliers and producers.

Governed by a well-qualified and competent Board, Enterprising Limpsfield’s day-to-day operations will be led by a passionate, energetic and experienced Management Team.

The business is already supported by over 130 local shareholders (and current customers), who share a vision to breathe new life into this much-loved historic building and to shape the future ‘pub/hub’ experience by creating a unique community destination.

Community-centric

The community and its needs are at the heart of Enterprising Limpsfield’s vision; to create an inviting space to host friendly get-togethers, private events or small business collaborations.

There will be plenty of opportunities to showcase local talent with a variety of pop-up events, tastings and skills-based workshops.

Building on the phenomenal response from local collaborators and suppliers, Enterprising Limpsfield is very keen to hear from individuals or companies interested in being involved in operations, supply and/or one-off events and ongoing activities.

The investment

To attract a wide range of investors across all ages and walks of life, shares in the business are still available to purchase from £500. With the aim of encouraging inter-generational participation and long-term sustainability, a limited number of shares are available to younger people (under 30) at £100 each.

This Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS)-backed business, gained HMRC advance assurance in February 2018 under rigorous new guidelines and offers up-front benefits to tax-paying prospective investors – including 30% income tax relief on your investment, as well as capital gains tax relief, loss relief and inheritance planning benefits.
