At the age of 18, the singer/ songwriter from Warlingham, is about to release his debut single, Facebook Love, on iTunes and Spotify, having already released his video on YouTube.
Appropriately, we caught up with Georgie on Facebook…
Q: How old were you when you started out in music?
A: I got my first guitar when i was 9, started singing in a band (called Suited) and songwriting around the age of 11.
Q: Do you play any other instruments apart from the guitar?
A: I’m pretty much self taught on everything, but i can also play drums, piano & bass guitar.
Q: Who are your biggest influences?
A: My biggest musical influences are Ed Sheeran & John Mayer. Ed Sheeran, mainly for his talent in songwriting, and John mayer, also for his songwriting but mainly for his longevity in the music industry.
Q: What was the first album that you bought/ downloaded?
A: I can’t remember too well, but if i had to guess it would have probably been a Busted album.
Q: What are you currently listening to?
A: I am currently listening to Krept & Konan’s new album The Long Way Home. I find them quite inspiring from the fact that they’ve come from nothing and are releasing music independently (similar to me), making a real name for themselves in the music industry.
Q: What are you doing when you are not singing or writing songs?
A: I’m either chilling out, playing Fifa with my mates, or maybe watching a film.
Q: Where have you played & what’s your favourite venue so far?
A: I have played at quite a few things locally, mainly charity fundraising events and showcases…. I don’t really have a favourite venue if i’m honest, it’s what you make of it!
Q: What’s your favourite local restaurant or take away?
A: My favourite restaurant has to be one in my village, Warlingham, called India Dining!
Q: Speaking of Warlingham, which is where you have grown up & still live now – what’s your favourite thing about it?
A: It’s got to be the people! everyones been so supportive towards me so far, which is nice.
