You may remember that InTandridge were the first to try a new prototype beer, when we recently visited local ‘nano’ brewery, The Godstone Brewers.

Fast forward a month or so, and this prototype beer has been developed, brewed, and bottled, ready to make it’s debut at Love Oxted Day on Saturday!

As a concept, The Godstone Brewers wanted to produce a light beer with loads of flavour and body like a stout, but without the dark colour and roasted/toasted coffee and chocolate associated with stouts and porters…

“To achieve the “body” we have used some old fashioned malts, other grains such as malted rye and malted oats plus a modern malt that has been hot floor malted to give complexity and biscuity flavours without dark colours.

As for the hops, we wanted a fruity character that would appeal to all beer drinkers and leave the palate refreshed. To do this we sourced from Japan, New Zealand and Germany.”

The Godstone Brewers’ Not So Black & White Stout, is produced in a small bottle, only 330ml, and is not strong in alcohol at 3.7% abv, but has bags of flavour to savour!

(It is bottle conditioned so has to be carefully poured to avoid stirring the sediment).

We’ve got 2 gift packs to give away, each containing 6 bottles of The Godstone Brewers beer!

The gift packs are mainly made up of the new ‘Not So Black & White Stout’, with a bottle or two of The Godstone Brewers’ popular ‘Pondtail Pale’.
