With it being Easter, InTandridge headed to specialist Oxted beer shop, Hop Stop, to try some chocolate beer!

It was the first time we had visited Hop Stop, and we were very impressed.  The shop looks fantastic, both from the outside and once inside, and there is a huge selection of beers to choose from.

Owners, Mike and Ruth, were very friendly, and were keen to help us with our beer choice!

Their aim with the Hop Stop, is to provide a fantastic range of beers on draught and in bottles and cans to takeaway. As already mentioned, they stock a wide range of styles and love helping you discover new flavours and new favourites. The beer on offer is sourced locally (we spotted a couple of Godstone Brewers beers), from around Britain, Europe, and the rest of the world. Their range is also rotated, to ensure there’s always something new to try.

With it being Easter, we opted for some specially stocked, chocolate beers.

Admittedly, we decided we prefer chocolate eggs to chocolate beer, but we ranked them in this order:

  1.  Thornbridge Cocoa – Wonderland, Chocolate Porter, 6.8%
  2. The Ilkley Brewery – Westwood, White Chocolate Stout, 6.5%
  3. Wild Beer Co – Millionaire, Chocolate and Salted Caramel Milk Stout, 4.7%

Whilst the chocolate beer may not have been to our taste, Hop Stop most definitely is!

We would highly recommend visiting this excellent local beer shop; and whether you are a beer geek or a beer novice, you will be made to feel welcome!
