If you spot any of our local police officers  walking around Tandridge today, wearing rainbow shoelaces – there’s a very good reason!

It’s International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia (IDAHOT).

IDAHOT is the largest LGBTI (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender and Intersex) event to take place throughout the globe with over 1,000 events taking place in more than 120 countries worldwide.

It was created in 2004 to draw the attention of policymakers, opinion leaders, social movements, the public and the media to the violence and discrimination experienced by LGBTI people internationally.

Local policeman, PC Tristan Barnett, is donning his LAGLO (Lesbian and Gay Liaison Officer) shirt today and speaking at HQ as part of IDAHOT 2016.

InTandridge asked PC Barnett for a photo in his LAGLO shirt, but he requested some time to ‘spend 6 months in the gym’ first!
