Encompassing established forestry and offering stunning views over the undulating Kent North Downs, Westerham is a superb par 72 course in excess of 6,000 yards and built to a high standard with USGA specification greens and full irrigation throughout, allowing play 12 months of the year.
Tree lined fairways, strategically placed bunkers and three beautiful water features makes this a solid test for any standard of golfer and the exceptional design and maturity of the course has gained it a reputation as a ‘thinking man’s course’.
Lasting memories of the course will likely revolve around the ‘eye of the storm’ 11th – a par 3 with daunting pine trees and bunkers protecting a small green or the closing hole which brings you back to a grandstand finish in front of the clubhouse, where the pressure is on to clear the devilishly positioned 18th lake.
Westerham’s first class practice facilities include an indoor training area, short game practice area and 10 acre driving range and will soon be supported by a new 9 hole academy course.
Overlooking the 9th and 18th greens, the Club’s impressive, contemporary clubhouse, offers excellent facilities and exceptional cuisine, backed by first class service, making it the perfect venue for any event from weddings and celebrations to societies and corporate days.

Making the most of the fabulous views across our course and beyond, the Valance Suite offers a stylish and contemporary setting for any event.
High beamed ceilings, open fireplaces and large windows make this a light and open, yet cosy venue which can hold up to 230 guests (seated) at any time. Further enhanced by its private lounge and bar area and full length balcony overlooking the course and backed by first class catering and unprecedented service, this stunning venue has been wowing hosts for years and has been regularly shortlisted as a Finalist in the Kent Wedding Awards.

The Altonwood Group opened its first course at Westerham in 1997 and we have been developing our portfolio ever since.
Altonwood now boasts five fine courses in Surrey and Kent – Godstone, Surrey National, Westerham, Woldingham and our latest acquisition, Top 100 ranked The Addington. Our courses offer a great choice for golfers of every standard and progression for a lifetime of golf!
We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional courses, affordable golf and first class hospitality and our clubhouses offer excellent facilities for private dining and corporate entertainment. Additionally, Surrey National, Westerham and Woldingham golf clubs, each have purpose built venues for weddings and special events.
Altonwood’s programme of investment and development ensures a continuous improvement across our courses and facilities which will encompass a number of dramatic developments over the next few years, teeing off with the opening of a new 9 hole academy course at Westerham in the summer of 2016.
Further developments are planned to commence next year to make Altonwood a growing force in the golfing community.
